This course is a fast-paced introduction to
modern and contemporary U.S. poetry, from Dickinson and Whitman to the present.
Participants (who need no prior experience with poetry) will learn how to read
poems that are supposedly “difficult.”
Dear FIX,
Many of you have asked us if ModPo will remain open after the course officially ends on Monday, November 19. The answer is: yes!
The entire site will be available until September 2013. This includes all the discussion forums, the video discussions, the links to texts and audio recordings of the poems, the audio introductions, etc.
Enrollment will close on November 19, but anyone already in ModPo will be able to access the site just as you have done since September 10.
Julia and I and the TAs will not be nearly as active in the discussion forums as we have been, but you will find some of us, or all of us, there from time to time. We might make new forums for discussing new poems. I will send messages to everyone on occasion.
Looking forward to the release of the new week's videos and forums tonight - about 10 hours from now,
