Here’s part of a new mural that was painted on a wall I regularly walk by on my way to central Cali.

Last night, I went to Tin Tin Deo. I had about 6 women to dance with. Some dances were great and a few had me wondering what to do to get on the same page. My problem is I dance better LA style (en linea). But, some of my friends only know CaleƱo style. So, sometimes, we just dance simply and don’t do anything fancy. But, I had a lot of fun with all my dance partners.

In the past couple of weeks, I’ve had friends say they will call me (about something) or say that we’ll do something. Then, I don’t receive a call or we don’t end up doing anything. Sometimes, people say things here, then don’t follow through with it. A Colombian friend of mine told me it happens to her too. She doesn’t like it and said that I should call them on it. Tell them it’s better to let me know if they can’t do something or let me know if something else came up. It’s something here that I try to understand, but I can’t. I try not to let it bother me much, but sometimes it just annoys me. It’s especially irritating, if you’ve left an evening open for something and then it falls through because you are not contacted when the other person can’t make it. Or someone says they’ll call you and after a week, you still are waiting for that call. I guess I should be a little more aggressive about letting my friends here how I feel about all this.
